I loved the diesel on my late JGC (an earlier VM engine). It wasn't fast, but so smooth, torquey and sipping...

Is the Bronco going to have a manual option? Saw a rumor to that effect.

Manual option is all but confirmed, 6 speed with a low-end creeper gear, though it’s not clear which engines it will be available with.

Engines are likely the 2.3 turbo four from Ranger and a twin turbo six, probably the 2.7, which makes 325 hp/400 lbs-ft in the F-150.

Probably not on diesel, at least at first, though Ford has one in the F-150 it could use. But diesels don’t interest me much these days.

Turbo six cylinder sounds interesting

I enjoy mine. :)

BTW, the X3M I drove has the engine that’s going in the new M3/4 I believe. It was hard to tell much about the engine in my short test and in that beast of a vehicle.

When GM re enters this arena with a RWD based Blazer, not only would I then get one, but I’d also know it’s the end of the gasoline era.

It is very hard, to my mind, beat the simplicity of the Jeep. But I’d try a different approach for sure.

yeah sounding pretty go so far for overroading. Locking front/rear diffs and sway bar disconnect. IFS not solid front axle but I think it is worth it for onroad. 7MT seems interesting with the crawl gear.

Wow a real manual. That’s a selling point for sure. Jeep in ford’s sites.

It would be nice to have an alternative to the Jeep Wrangler.

I wonder who is supplying the transmission?
