chanigng your tires
"...and then you have done a couple three hours tire rotation. Hmm? Okay. your decision." |
I suspect he's discouraging people because otherwise the average American will lose a wheel or the car will fall on them; then they'll sue Motorweek for encouraging them to DIY
 Pat Goss is awful, though. |
I appreciate that no actual work was shown in that video.

Agreed.
That said, I find it pretty funny that that were important elements not stressed enough given the time he spent on other stuff. Things like: - caution about lifting tires and potential injury to one's back - breaking bolts loose before car is up in the air - using only impact socket if using an impact wrench - tightening in a star pattern - going over bolts twice and/or retorquing after some driving - the implications of dropping the car with the wheels hanging, which load the wheels at an odd angle, especially on vehicles with a lot of (soft) suspension travel. |

I was sitting on the couch doing some computery things with Motorweek on the TV in the background. This segment aired and it was just so bad that I had to see if it was on youtube so I could share.

With that Goss dude talking to the audience as though they’re a bunch of 4-year olds, and the host John Davis talking with exaggerated inflections in his narration that is EXTREMELY irritating (to me), I’ve grown to really dislike the show……which is amazing to me how it has become “television’s longest running automotive series.”

Wow, that was worse than I could have imagined.
