Boston hotel recommendation

Need a recommendation for a 1 or 2 night stay in April (unfortunately on Patriot's weekend). Friend's wedding is right by the Common so walking distance (while still having good parking) would be best.

Quick replies encouraged as I kind of have to book today.

You might have trouble due to the Marathon...there are plenty of hotels around though. You might have to just take what you can get.

The Taj (used to be the ritz) is fantastic and right on the common. The 4 Seasons is right on the common and also great.

If you can figure out what's available, I'll provide feedback on which is better...

EDIT: check your PM

I've heard good things about the commonwealth hotel, but I think that's closer to Fenway.

Yeah, Hotel Commonwealth is very nice but it is in Kenmore Square, so it is a ways from the Common (30 min walk/10 minute drive/4 stops on T)

Right by the Common you will find the Four Seasons and the Taj (old Ritz) on one side, and the new Ritz on the other side. There are also several hotels in the Copley area which is not too far away.

I really like the Palomar in Dallas. It's a Kimpton hotel. Kimpton owns the Nine Zero in Boston, which seems to be highly rated on tripadvisor. (#8 ranked)

They say it's a block from the Common.

Don't know much about it, but it is literally <500ft from my place so I can agree that it is very close to the Common. The only thing that I know is that they have a restaurant named KO Prime with a big cow near the entrance that I see every time I walk by.

KO Prime is pretty good. I generally like Ken Oringer.

However, everyone in Boston needs to go here - best steak in the city.

equ-- if you let one of us know where your event is, we can let you know which ones are close by.

The Common is surrounded by Back Bay, Beacon Hill, and Downtown... which one is most convenient depends on what end is closest to your event, though it is pretty easy to get around the area. Like the others mentioned earlier, the marathon might make it difficult to find a room at a reasonable rate... you might need to be a bit flexible.

Event is at Union Club, pretty much on the common. Will end around midnight or 1am Saturday... With prices looking like they are, we may just come up for one night.

The Inn at St. Botolph is an absolutely lovely place to stay. The location is probably not perfect, and you have to use a public garage, but they have very nicely appointed rooms and really nice beds.
