That's an excellent resource--thanks.

Still can't believe that the 2.5XT runs 13s in the 1/4...

I'm still damn impressed at the size of Dodge's cojones WRT the SRT-4. If only it came as a wagon...

....hmm. Engine swap into PT Cruiser. Chopped, suicided, some tasteful billet, and American Racing torq-thrust II wheels.

....hmm.

....anyone have a few thousand bucks lying around? That would be a bad ass package.

where's the Z.H.P.?

Dude, you don't need to do an engine swap. The PT Cruiser GT has the same engine in it, doesn't it? 2.4L turbo, 220 horsepower at 5000 rpm and 245 lb.-ft. of peak torque available from 2400 to 4400 rpm. It's power rating is only 10 hp off the SRT-4. Even if the SRT-4 is underrated, all you'd need to do is turn the wick up on the PT Cruiser.

Actually, you need this:

software from CobbTuning is just about to break for the STi and the F-XT. i can't wait. :D

the goal is to have a breadbox "almost" as fast as a stock C5.

but there isn't all that much difference bet. a PT Cruiser Turbo and the SRT other than the ECU, is there?

blee 05-07-2004 04:21 PM

Hmm. I wasn't aware that the 2.4T in the PT Cruiser was quite that close in power. That thing still isn't all that fast, though. Perhaps what it needs is the Hemi.

And speaking of Hemis...that wagon just begs to be modified a bit as well. It's seriously one of the coolest designs to come out of Detroit in ages. I'd have a hard time justifying an SRX over one of those babies. The SRX is great in its own way but...

Have you seen the comercial for that thing. It's pretty cool, but that cant be the REAL exaust note. If so that's awesome.

blee 05-07-2004 04:32 PM

The exhaust note isn't too far off if you check the Hemi option. At least, so I'm told. :D

What it needs is a six-speed.

In this month's Automobile, Jamie Kitman has an absolutely gushing review of the 300C. I believe his exact words are "it's so dope."

I agree on the SRX. The 300C and the Magnum are not cars I'd buy, because of my unyielding no stick, no sale rule, but they are definitely cars that I am recommending to SUV/entry lux intenders that I know.

I need to drive one.

They need to build one with a manual transmission.
