Is sakhir orange the 1M color or a different one? Really did not like the 1M orange.

Any orange or red and I'm out of the future market of your car.

Azurite is black so scratch that. It has to be Yas or Tanzanite for me. I'd have to think hard which one if I were building one.

Another consideration is cloth with kids & dog. Our dog chews cloth like crazy in the house but has not touched leather yet. I'd go one of two directions:

Purist build: YMB/Black Cloth/CF Roof
Luxo build: Tanzanite/Leather (not sure which kind)/Moonroof.

Bummer that the Competition package that sounds necessary for grip/suspension takes you to 20" wheels, not a fan of those stars (a rip off MV Agusta IMHO). I like the 18's with the fat sidewalls or the gray 19's.

Awesome! I've been trying to hunt down a car with that color. Apparently there is one in downtown Boston (Herb Chambers in Comm Ave), but it's a PITA to get to and to busy to make an express drive for it. Maybe this weekend.

It is said that the extra width of the 20" rear wheels/tires makes a difference.

The orange is different than the 1M (Valencia Orange). Sakhir is more red.

Ah, Herb Chambers. My favorite.

I might, too (but I did go Estoril, which is half the way there.) Yas Marina and Porsche's Miami Blue seem really close to me.

My big problem with the blue is that I can't think of it without thinking of Broad City.

YAAASSS Marina.

;) It's funny, but I thought the Estoril was super conspicuous and flashy when I brought it home. And then we got a Guards Red Porsche. Tamed the blue in no time.

I'm so glad they got rid of that amazing sounding V8 and put in a terrible sounding turbo six cylinder so they could vastly improve the fuel economy to ... 24MPG highway.

Don't get me started. But hey, torque.

I’m not an orange guy but this has red in it and in person it looks REALLY good ... it looks like a road trip is in order, you need to see this car in person.

Here is the dealer ...

Cute. But there is no appreciable turbo lag in either my 240 or my spouse’s 718s—just gobs of power when you want and need it. And it has nothing to do with gas consumption.

A tiny amount of turbo lag doesn't bother me either actually. Despite liking manuals, I'm often lazy and don't downshift. Rolling on the throttle and having the power kick in is kind of fun.

Not that I have ever owned any cars with any actual power. :banghead:

The modern M3/4's certainly offer a lot of material for ridicule, but lag is well controlled on the F8X. The gap from a performance driving enjoyment POV has never been bigger between an M and a non-M 3er.

Well I was lucky to get 15mpg with that v8 with no torque:dunno:

FC 10-25-2017 12:05 AM

I got 13mpg on the 987S and the 997TT and get 18mpg on the Miata.

bren 10-25-2017 06:41 AM

Anyone considering fuel economy on an $80k car needs to have their head examined.

Finally saw the Sakhir Orange in person and everyone loved it. So it has been decided.

Would you consider Yas Marina? https://rennlist.com/forums/vehicle-...e-6-speed.html

He can get his carbon driveshaft:D

Edit: seem like he should just take over the lease then he could ditch it at the end if he wants

Yeah the M3 is actually a good deal I think. I briefly considered keeping my old e70 and getting an m3 instead of spending all of the $ on the F15 50i.

1) I can't drive it in Europe with my family
2) They've made revisions since that build date
3) I like Yaz, but I prefer the Sakhir
4) For 67k, I rather pay 72 and get a brand new one. You never know what they did to it. A lot of flashing done nowadays that get undone prior to sale.
5) Perhaps most importantly, I don't really need a new car until Feb 2019 (eGolf lease ends). The 2018 M3 is already too soon - and that's with a late June pick up and (probably) August/Sept US delivery.

I think they're a pretty good modern take on the classic Trans Am snowflake wheel. Fitting for the German Camaro.

So you're saying the next M3 will have 22" Cragar knockoffs? Wait, no... I guess slot mags came after the snowflake wheels, generationally speaking?

Sunset Orange pics for FC (on a 2 series): http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1442215 Definitely more brown than Sakhir.

Orange: good

Orange with Tan: bad

wdc330i 11-22-2017 11:55 AM

I much prefer the Porsche Oranges.
