My 997 was a base which I believe you have and it was awesome.

I know of no one with a manual or even a PDK 992.1 S. In fact I rarely ever see one locally.

The 997.2 base is a 3.6 putting out the power of a 997.1 S. The 997.2 S is a 3.8 and typically more prone to the bore scoring than the 3.6. And yes, the .2 is still prone to bore scoring. The dot twos are not immune to the problem.

I’ll not have an informed opinion for a couple of weeks. But then I will be able to weigh in. It’s quite difficult to chase down even a CPO Carrera S with a manual to drive —they go fast.

There’s not a whole lot of preowned anything close by me that could be test driven. There’s inventory —but it’s like you’re asking to get laughed at if you want to test drive the Sport Classic, a GT3 or GT3RS.

2024 Porsche 911 Carrera T Review - Not Enough Car For The Money?

So I did a roadtrip down to SW VA this weekend. Had a blast in the mountains. Got to do a couple of really nice runs on 211; the weather on Sunday was perfect.

I saw 3 911s but only one other Boxster (a 986), and given the day and the roads I just can’t imagine that those 911 guys were having anywhere near as much fun as I was.

I fully support your sentiments above.

My SA texted, some how he has scored me a 992.1 S allocation. This is all I know as we have not spoken yet.

I watched that video and at the end he sort of mentioned it should have more power but took it as his main complaints were numbness/overly competent:dunno:

Edit: the other video , I thought he liked the S because it was older and half the cost

I have been on the configurator for the past 2.5+ hours with a small break to eat a lite dinner.
