HID Problems...

Hey all...
I have a friend with the Mercedes... Yeah, the same one I asked for tire info about earlier....

Latest issue...
HID's.
The car sometimes has one headlight with a lower output. WHen it does so, it also 'flickers'.

Is this a pending bulb failure or something in the ballast/exciter end of things? I have just recently acquired a car with HID's myself (Mom's E38) so my experience in the headlight department is only with halogens...

Any of you had issues with HID's like this that you can relate to me?
Thanks

The only time my HID's flickered was when the battery was almost dead. But I don't think the brightness was affected.

My guess would be the ballast or whatever the electrical supply to the HID's is. But it's just a guess. Those bulbs are pretty robust courtesy of the inert gas.

Could be either. Tell him to swap bulbs.
