Tesla Insurance that spies in you

Damn. But also kinda cool.

Assessing risk more accurately allows picking better rates and everyone wins.. In theory?

Sort of like those ob2 insurance reading. I like to think my “spirited” driving is safer then majority of people who are distracted.:D

The only part that would give me concern today is this:

Quote:

Presently, Tesla does provide some of this data to insurance companies. Musk says this is to "help with rates,"
What data is it giving, under what circumstances, how regularly, why, to who, how is it being used, how long is it being retained, how is it being protected, what protections are there about the data being used for other purposes or shared with others (is Tesla sharing your driver data with a carrier providing your life insurance that may up your rates or deny a claim due to what they learn from Tesla?), and on and on.

Beyond that, meh. If it works for you, why not?

The thing that bothers me most is that this road ultimately leads to all insurance companies requiring consent to the current level of Tesla intrusion to even provide insurance. And then everyone loses. For realz.

Wait, Tesla sends data about your driving habits to insurance companies without your consent?

I'm so shocked.

Waiting for the Teslapologists to explain how it's such an insanely great thing that they do that.

I'm sure the data is disassociated from your name and then aggregated.

Maybe.
