The Tesla software is world's better than any other OEM nav I've used--night and day. Its traffic integration is solid, too--good enough that I don't even bother with Waze, though I recognize others may like Waze a lot more than I do. |
I saw several threads bitching about Tesla map routing, so that doesn't jive with your experiences. But I'm confident that if it is deficient it will continue to improve. So I'm not worried about it at all.
But Waze warns me about cops. It's that simple. It saved me just this morning. . |

https://www.apnews.com/828aefab64d44...like-it-or-not Tesla map routing was weird and bad for a while--like, very terrible, in that it would sometimes route you off on random side trips for no apparent reason. Over the past couple of years it has steadily improved; these days the routes it proposes are basically indistinguishable from the ones that Google suggests, at least around here. |

Hahaha. No.
And I just ordered: - Performance AWD version - Blue exterior - Black interior I skipped - 20" wheel upgrade - Nav - White interior |

The lead sales guy at the place I ordered it says he's confident I'll get it some time between Halloween and Thanksgiving. Now.... Who's buying my Porsche? |
Nice!!
|
Good stuff!

Can you get ventilated seats? Having chanced on to them with the 981 and the Jeep, I must say they are quite nice to have in these sticky months. Going forward, I'd like to see them on a 5-series level car or above.

No ventilated seats, unfortunately. I also don't think the seats are particularly special. They're not bad, but they're not great either

Congrats!
I’m in the same delivery window. Let’s see who gets theirs first. Regarding Waze... Tesla did a major update of its nav guidance earlier this year and it’s really good. It takes road closures and accidents into account (the older one only took traffic speed, but would route you through closed roads). I find it works well compared to Waze... |
wow, congrats. This will replace the Porsche? Or the BMW? Or both?

If after a year I find the BMW never gets driven I'll have to think about whether it makes sense to keep it. But I don't see that happening. |
So.. I had a voicemail and email from Tesla this evening. From the delivery advisor.
I’ll call them back tomorrow. |

Do you have a delivery date already??? |
I'm kinda jealous. I really would like an electric car but need the prices for these to come down to reality first.

I view this as me buying an insanely overpriced car just for the fun of being an early adopter. |

Just over 92k miles, extended warranty is transferable for $100 (gives full coverage up to 100k miles with a $200 per visit deductible, which Tesla has never collected for the handful of repairs done), and the battery and Powertrain are warranted up to 8 years (about 2.75 remaining) or 125k miles. |
No interest in a Model S. I just don't like the way they drive.

Mid 20's minus 7.5k?

For reference, the cheapest 2016+ turbo Camaro Carmax has listed is $1100 more than I paid for my new 2017 in February. |

I went from the Boxster to the S. Took a while to get used to the extra acreage behind me :D |

There were rumors of a huge batch of Dual Motors being produced in the last week or so. The VIN is about 7k lower than others that have been assigned, so it's plausible it was in that batch. I'm glad it was produced earlier in the quarter. Just too many horror stories of Tesla rushing production to meet end of quarter deliveries -- and people having quality issues. Evidence is anecdotal, but a lot of the problems reported just after delivery on both the S and X are cars delivered in the last week or so of a quarter... |

This is what my blue 3 will look like with 18's once the stupid wheel covers are removed. I still don't love them, but they're not terrible, and they're nice and light. The covers supposedly add 10% to your range, so I'll keep them around in case I want them for long trips.
I'm undecided whether I will upgrade to 19's and use the stock 18's for winter. But the car will be delivered in fall so I can make that decision in the spring. What I do know is that the handling on the all seasons was pretty mushy and unsatisfying. This has me worried about winter tires. I'm thinking of sticking with all seasons on the Tesla through winter for a semi-sporty ride and put snows on the truck for bad storms. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...123440fc56.jpg |

Yeah, I agree. I was never excited about huge wheels wrapped in rubber bands.
But I might have to try them with performance tires before deciding. The turn in with all-seasons was shit. |
