My source for that info is via Spike Feresten. Him and Zuckerman have ordered several Porsches recently with CXX, Special Wishes.

It is a fun option. I suppose if you go that route you would also get the full Manthey Racing package too?

(On cars for which Manthey is an option)

(If you can mix and match CXX with Manthey)

(It’s clear I don’t know how this stuff works)

Manthey is dealer installed via an authorized Manthey dealer. Similar how Dinan former was, maybe it still is? Once Steve Dinan sold it off I stopped caring.

I would totally take this! The color combo is great and I absolutely love that heritage interior.

nice color combo but IMHO the sport classic was miss for Porsche. Sounded good on paper but the detuned turbo with the MT didnt match up well based on the reviews. Not worth the extra money.

JST 03-14-2024 10:16 AM

lol, when I first read the listing I thought it said 10,000 miles and I was like “well at least someone enjoyed it.”

Uh, never mind.

Yep.

Think you could have fun in a very customized GTS manual. With same interior package. And wholly customized.

Yes, I’m sure the power delta is noticeable, but the GTS was made for the engine for which it is paired, whereas the Sport Classic just sounds like a lot of timing being pulled from the engine to manage torque to not destroy the transmission.

Of all of the limited run cars, this is the one that makes me the most ‘meh’. The Turbo/Turbo S engine sounds like a vacuum cleaner still.

Same here. LOL

I generally don't get these cars. With the crazy pricing and limited production they all become bubble cars for the super rich. What's the point? To taunt the mundane wealthy masses by showing they can build great cars but only a select few can have them?

To me, these are in practice no different than a $1M car. Who cares? You are just going to at best baby it and at worst stare at it.

That's why I respect the 911T and the 718 4.0. It's the closest to actually giving "the people" a good attempt at a great car without asking stupid money.

EDIT: I should add the GT3 to that list, even though it is getting pretty darn expensive.

JST 03-16-2024 02:35 PM

The only recent special 911 that really speaks to me is the 991 Spyder (and maybe the S/T). And for the 991 Spyder I’d really have to wonder whether it’s worth the cost of three 718 Spyders or whatever.

The S/T does seem like a quite impressive package

+1

I will gladly take one in Shore Blue Metallic with the heritage interior and sans “the meatball” on the doors.

Not BAT, but cars I'll never buy related, I got this email offer from Porsche Conshohocken (local) today. I don't even know what it means. "FULL TANK" on a Taycan....
Taycan 911 Turbo Turbo? Do I get both for that price? If so, that kind of is a deal

As usual, not BAT, but another thinker for me to swap the .2 for... I like mahogany a lot and a 2016 GTS would hold its value better than a '17 base for sure.

JST 04-13-2024 11:07 AM

Yeah that’s incredibly striking. I’d buy a 6’ torque wrench for wheels like that.

No, but I am considering it. It's super pretty.

My wife and I were out in ours over the weekend and were talking about it. We just don't baby our cars, the 991 has over 32k miles on it now, and we don' think we'd want a car that we couldn't pile miles on. This one would need to stay low miles to hold value... not sure that's what we want.

Ah. Not worth buying if you angst over using it...But, given how long you keep your cars typically, it would seem like you would get a ton of personal value and enjoyment out of it.

Yachting Blue Metallic 2022 Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS 7-Speed: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...targa-4-gts-7/

It's re-listed already at $249k

edit: I didn't realize it went RNM at $226k on BAT... wow.

This car is wicked. I like the shade of blue and the color combo doesn’t make the targa top look so unwieldy as some combos can.

I received the email regarding the car at 9:42 and I have been eyeing it ever since.

JST 04-30-2024 11:42 AM

For me personally, even if they were the same money I’d get the GTS over the Spyder, just because I like to drive the car daily and the top and seats in the GTS make it more usable day-to-day.

If I were in your situation, though? About the only thing I’d change on this car is the carbon ceramics, which I’d rather not deal with. Assuming you can still do it I might take the discs off and put them in a safe place and swap iron rotors on, so I didn’t have to worry about a steep repair bill down the line.

Agreed on all counts. The GTS would be the sweet spot, I learned that lesson with the GT4. Not to mention how well the power top works on 981's and 718's, 9 or 10 seconds up to 31mph.

I don’t think ceramics wear a lot on only street driving, best I can tell.

(Don’t let it ever deter you, is what I’m saying)
