On a darker blue car I think it would be terrible. And beige is the worst color for Porsche interiors by a lot. I kind of dig how rare the blue cars are, because it really makes my car pop. For a 10 year old dentist's Porsche, it gets a lot of looks and comments. On the earlier 911s, I've always been a fan of Baltic Blue. I had a toy long-nose 911 that color as a kid, so maybe it just reads as right to me, but I love the subtlety of that color in contrast to the various black trim elements on the mid-year cars. The paint-to-sample Baltic Blue 997 was not as good. |
I don't like any of the interior browns they currently offer. I wish they offered something like BMW's old "Natural Brown" or some of the more reddish chestnut browns offered by other manufacturers. Porsche's beiges and espressos just don't work for me.

Didn't ZBB have a really cool warm brown like that in his Boxster or was that FC?

One of the things that drives me batty is the reflection of the dash on the windshield. At least my LR4 and the 987S have/had dark brown dashboards so no reflection issues. On the JGC it bothered me as it was tan. When/if I get a Boxster it will be black interior unless I find another cocoa brown and it's spec'd perfectly. |

The 987 interior certainly does not feel or look cheap.

I love Horizon Blue. (I also love California Blue Ferraris and this is similar)

I love that car, it makes me want to find one just like it ... That color combo is beautiful, my friend/neighbor had a similar color combo on his 997.2s cab though it was an off white ... What a beauty though I prefer the regular white. Quote:

Amazingly, you still see some adds with 3 poorly framed photos that seem to have been taken at dusk with a Motorola Startac. |

Also, please note that the car is in Virginia, though way out west. |

OT: A grey (dark silver?) GT3 RS drove by me yesterday and damn, that's an exotic looking car. Totally wasted outside of a track, but it sure looked cool.

I have that same style of wheel on my Boxster. Pretty rare option on them, maybe not so rare on the 911?
Nice car and nice price, though black over tan doesn't really work for me. Reminds me of when I see the accounting guys at work wearing black socks with brown shoes :ack:  |

They have to be larger in the rear then the Boxster version I assume. |

I like black on tan/brown, but I just think Porsche's tan is too light. I wish it was darker, like the old E46 Natural Brown. I like that reddish-brown chestnut color interior BMW sometimes offers too, not sure what it's called.

It's funny right now 4 out of the 5 cars I have are black ... 2 of them are black on black (991 and R8) and 2 of them are black with a light tan though the 550 is almost like a whitish tan called ivory white. I think all of the combos look great. On the sports cars the black on black fits them perfectly though my 997 was black on tan and I thought that was beautiful as well, I guess I'm not quite as picky as some here I was just happy at the time to find a 997 with super low mileage (6k) in Perfect condition. My favorite combo would have been the black/black which I have on the 991 but with that car I was able to order it exactly the way I wanted it from the factory. |

"So much bang for the buck". Um, no, you can't really say that about a car with a $140k price tag.

The $33k (or whatever I paid for mine) is - IMO - where that phrase can come in at. FYI - the odometer on mine is about to turn 115,000 miles. :) That is 30 thousand miles over the 2+ years I have had it (27 months or so). LOVE IT. |

Considering it isn't crumpled, I assume that was the point.

Drive it too fast and the rear end will swing you into a ditch ... ... and, the two walls sort of look like the steel plates of a crusher, ready to flatten the car into a crumpled box - which is probably the most appropriate state this overrated, over-valued and now, over-ripe, old death-trap of a car belongs. As an aside, if you've never driven one of these, they drive and feel like shit. |
how about a cayman with a 911(GT3) front end :)
