Shown here is the screw nail that I found in my tire tonight. Can’t even count how many this is now. Fortunately it seems repairable.

Speaking of repairs, shown here is my quick rear rotor/pad swap that extended into the evening hours because I forgot to adjust the parking brakes before buttoning everything back up. In the words of Rick Perry, whoops.

The good news is it’s a pretty festive place to troubleshoot your brakes.

I'm sure that spare was kept at the spec 60psi and then driven at less than 50mph for limited periods.

I don't keep count but for the few miles driven, right up there with you. Have lost 4 or so porsche tires in about 19k miles to various damage. Just bought a 19" /40 profile set. Once I aired them up, one tire showed a bubble that the seller didn't disclose or know about. It was otherwise a good deal so I'm not going to raise a stink. I took my 20's off, and one had a screw almost all the way through but it might be holding air. I removed it, still see the hole in the tread.

And by the way, 19" goodyear f1's drive much better than 20" pirelli p zero's out in real NJ.

Which 19"s did you get? Same overall diameter or did you go down a touch to help with gearing?

I found it across the street, badly twisted (but hardly worn). It looks like it was an explosive tire failure that literally blew the rim off the wheel.

I stayed with stock sizes, so went from a /35 to /40 profile. Did not touch the gearing issue, I'd have to 18's if I wanted to reduce gearing and add sidewall. The goodyears' greater grip and the higher profiles' better ride are pluses. You know our roads. An imperfection a stone's throw from me made your acquaintance recently.

They are stock 981 wheels. With tires, fronts weigh the same at 45lbs, 19" rears save 2lbs each from 52 to 50lbs. Perhaps the weight of the 20's comes from the crappy pirellis, I'm not sure.

The 19's don't have BBS embossed on the back of the spokes like the 20" Carrera Classics. No complaints on those fancy wheels, beautiful and light but they are also pricey and I've slightly bent one, no desire to keep ruining and repairing them. They are dark gray (agate?) and machined alloy two tone as opposed to the plain jane silver 19's.
