The 911 market is just dumb. Also, who in the hell are all the people who can actually afford these things. ugh

Ordered my current 3 around April/May time frame of 2002. There were 3 stipulations that I needed to be honored at the Ferman BMW dealership near Tampa where I bought the car:

(1) It MUST be built in Germany,

(2) NO potential buyers can test drive it once it is delivered to the dealership and,

(3) It MUST be ready to be driven off the lot by the end of August when I return home to FL. (I was on assignment in Monterey, CA around that time).

So I've got a BMW that is 14 years and 5 months old with 133,000 miles on the clock. It has been driven across the country 8 times, each time taking different routes. She has touched the streets in all the states of the Lower 48.

And to this day, it still gives me the same driving pleasure, the same smile on my face, as the day I drove it off the lot that hot summer day in 2002.

Totally stock. The only mods I've done are the 17" wheels. Here is a pic just outside my driveway:

Here is a pic of her next to my g/f's 2000 Odyssey with a little over 200,000 miles on the odometer:

Yeah. We tend to get our money's worth when it comes to vehicles, LOL.

So you are averaging about 8K a year. Not bad at all.

I have put 54K on mine in 8.5 years. So around 6,500 a year average.

That is one reason I am ok with 13mpg. =)

Thats a very cool story. E46s are awesome. I still remember the Roadfly rants *cough* TD *cough* about how much the E46 sucked compared to the E36... man the sky was falling back then.

Remember the "light steering" debacle and the sticky accelerator?

And I was sitting there and I’m watching this speech and I’m like, “What the hell has happened? I’m sitting here wistfully watching old George W. It just shows what a sad state we've devolved to when "Roadfly" is wistfully remembered as the good ole days. This country needs more :grouphug:
