Matt, we need to be at the train by 2 pm and it arrives the next day at 9am and then it’s a 1 1/2 hr drive to the school. Not too bad plus they serve a nice dinner on the train and we will have our own room so it should be ok ... I haven’t done this in over 20 years so we will see how it is.

Equ .... something tells me something happened to your Jeep ::toetap:

Wdc ... thanks again and yes i’ll take some pics, it’s been a LONG time since I took a road trip longer then 2 hours

Josh ... yes definitely want her to have a car, we talk pretty much every day and this school is kind of a mellow small school with very little going on (only 1000 more kids then our high school ) she likes her trips to Starbucks and target and she is excited to have her car down there. I know you have your daughters too, this will give a little more freedom plus she doesn’t have to rely on other people for rides.

We took it the first time we went to Disney World in 2007. We also got a room. My wife loved it and would do it again in a heartbeat even if it was just to ride down there and back. I was...glad we did it...and don't have to do it again. Our kids loved it, but were five and three at the time

A sit down dinner and breakfast on a train is always nice. A little weird, but nice. Makes you feel like you're in a movie.

I'll be interested in hearing what you think of it after.

Yeah, I got clipped in the front. My second accident ever (got rear ended ten years ago). Ugh, I had it up for sale too...

I’d definitely suggest packing some good booze and snacks.

It ended up much nicer than I thought, my sleeper room is really private and the train is really clean. I read reviews and they weren’t too great but they were wrong IMO, my room is clean, my AC is working amazing and I have pillows.

Btw this is all thing people complained about.

Plus the drive wasn’t bad, I left yesterday and got 4 hours in, stayed in a nice clean holiday inn and drove 1 hour to the train this morning plus got about 33 -35mpg. That A4 is a great car plus was loving the Waze on the factory screen though I did have an issue when I went to a rest stop and then when taking the rest of the trip last night the apple play would not come back on ... yeah frustrating I had to use the factory Nav for the last 1 hour of the trip.

I never used it in the A4 before though I learned it pretty quickly.

It's hard to believe that's a US train, I forgot what this thread started with and I thought the pics are from Europe somewhere. Good to know...

Best thing about a long train trip is to curl up with a couple of good books that you never had the time for.

Looks just like I remember from 2007.

Went looking for pics and it appears I didn't take any that really showed what the room looked like. SMH
