I opened a new tab, went to the Porsche configurator to build my GTS, saw the base price, then closed that tab and went back to work

Wise move. I should have done the same.

I just don't think I can bring myself to have a car payment again, near-zero interest rates be damned... keeping my eyes on the prize of early retirement, whatever "retirement" happens to mean.

Mind you, I am not commenting now, I am merely letting you know that I am stifling the urge to comment.

My first thought wasn't that, but rather "you parallel park that car? In D.C.?!"

FC, you could buy this to scratch the itch for awhile:

That's a nice car and all, but a bit boring color wise. Good seats and leather interior, though. Just noticed interior is dark gray and not black. Meh.

LOL appreciate that.

EDIT:

That RS60 is nice; those were probably the best of the 987.1s. It was available with either a grey or red interior; shame this one didn't get the red. It was a limited production car, but not really distinctive enough to matter. Still, as much as I dislike silver Porsches, it's a nice way to get the good steering wheel and good seats.
