I have never had any desire for a 968. And definitely not one with a sunroof. And most certainly not one with a sunroof with those miles at that price.

I've always wanted to have a 944 Turbo (and some of the non-turbo 944s are also appealing in some ways at times) and there's something I like about some 928 models.

But I have never, ever thought, "I'd like to have a 968."

Amazing. Maybe at that price level cars become more like trading commodities; the traders dont actually see the barrels of oil. gold bars or pork bellies. I wouldn't be surprised if it's bought by a speculator who never takes physical possession only to sell it off to someone else.

You mean, "Didn't they take the 944, punch it in the face with a baseball bat, put some googley eyes on it to distract from the damage, rub out all the character of the rear so it looks like a used bar of soap, add 24 to the model name (as in 24 of 924 add to 944) to make it a 968?

LOL. I guess i've never been a big 944 fan, so i'm kinda "meh" about both versions. The 968 looks about what i'd expect for a "facelift" version though.

It was more than a facelift and there were significant powertrain upgrades. Some suspension improvements and refinements as well. It's an objectively better car in almost every measurable way. I just thought they looked ugly and never really cared for them.

944 with it's squared off fenders FTW :cool:

As for the 968, seems like a odd engine choice big displacement 4 cylinder:? 3.0l 4 cylinder and 2l 6 cylinders:confused:

Yeah, the 968s look goofy af, a weird combo of 928 and 964 styling cues grafted onto the 944.

The 944 Turbo is where it’s at.

This thread inspired me to go look at pics of the 968 to see what all the fuss is about. This angle kinda ruined it for me- looks like the front fender flare is melting. I'm indifferent to the headlights vs the popup ones on the 944.

The 944 is a great 80's car (pop-up lights) that still looks good. It looks muscular.

The market likes the 944 the best also. HOLY SHIT BALLS!

I’m sorry I think that’s just dumb.

Frankly seems like the 968 design cues have been more durable, working their way into the DNA of current models...

I'd actually rather have the similar black logo from the 2002 turbo but it's NLA and is punishingly expensive.

Stupid low. What's the point of averaging <100 miles a year? That would scare me. That's a bubble car/super collectors vehicle. At that point it's a different market altogether, I think.

There was an article in this month's PCA magazine about the transaxle cars. This picture of the 968 struck me on how much better the car looks without the stupid spoiler on the back.

Is that an actual 968 or maybe a design concept? That looks really good. Could almost be introduced today as a modern version
