2017 230? Or 2005-6 ZHP?

Anyone have experience with both? Curious which is the better play. The 230 is uglier than a spud but probably is a better bet overall but not as interesting as the E46.

I'd go 230 with track handling package. But, from what I understand, you cannot add the M Sport Differential to the 230. However, maybe there's something aftermarket you can do. It may not need it as much as the M240 does.

Edit: This looks like a nice one. Although no photo confirming it has a stick. Would need to check the VIN. Claims to have MSport with all the right bits. Looks like it was a corporate car before it was bought. https://www.unitedbmw.com/inventory/...j1c57kvb98732/

Edit: Confirmed it's a manual. The only thing it's really missing is Harmon Kardon: https://www.mdecoder.com/decode/wba2j1c57kvb98732

I am loving the manual 230.

I miss my ‘04 ZHP six speed. I totally regret giving it away.

Edit: My vote is for a ZHP if that was not clear.

What do you mean by "better play"? Predicted future resale value or what you're going to enjoy? :dunno:

That’s a nice car, and I like the red—but probably more than I want to spend.

I was thinking about this one. Higher miles but seems like a good deal at 23K, assuming it’s really a stick.

Not sure if you read my post about radiator issues. But this vintage of 2 (builds prior to December 2017), do not have any protection for the radiator from rocks that enter the front grill. There are increasing reports of folks who’ve had rocks take out their radiator, to the tune of $2k plus.

You could DIY a mesh, as some have done. Dealer fix is around $750, from what I understand.

Or you could look for a post December 2017 build…

Are you out on the 1er? I find the 1 a *way* more engaging package than the 2 series cars I've driven.

Not really out on the 1er, no, just haven’t found one that looks interesting yet.

31,500 seems way silly for a 5 year old 230
