Noise from rear suspension
Recently, the Boxster's developed a bit of a graunching noise from the left rear when going around tight curves, especially when there's a grade change and a change in suspension loading.
Ideas? Wheel bearing? It comes and goes fairly quickly. |
Funny, I've noticed a slight groaning form the left rear on the TT when making left turns. I'll look at it in the spring.

A wheel bearing should be close to continuous, no? When my front WB went, it was a near constant minor grind/whine, just volume affected with loading/direction of turn. Doesn't sound like it to me.

Flex disc?

Suspension/Sway bar bushing, or CV joint. :dunno:

My 330 does something similar - it's the front tire rubbing on the fender liner. The fender liner sags a little bit and the tire hits it when fully compressed.
Sounds awful, happens rarely, causes no harm. If it's a continuous grumbling sound, it's a wheel bearing. |
Does it depend on which way you turn? More pronounced on RH turns could point to left WB. BTW, I now realize I didn't read the original post properly.
