Whoa. EAG’s owner just passed…
|
Wow, that’s awful

I just learned of this around 12:35a. I was going to post, but I was sort of shell-shocked. I have met and spoke with Eric several times. I might have more to share at later date, but currently it would be inappropriate.
RIP Eric. |

The motorcycle accident happened Wednesday night (Sept 1) and apparently the corner confirmed his identity Friday around noon. A helmet was at the scene, but initial reports state that it was unknown if it was being worn at the time of the accident. A quick search shows that Ohio‘s helmet law is only mandatory for those under the age of 18 and novice riders. Guessing it was not being worn?

Oh, no!
The old gent who bought my E91 was from Cincinnati and had bought a Z3 from EAG. I did not know anyone there, but it was always fun to look online at what they had. |
Sad
I despise helmet laws. (lack of use) I have never owned a street bike, but have owned many dirt bikes and enduro's (dirt bike that is street legal) I have never ridden without a helmet. I have always thought that those who do not wear them have nothing to protect. Now get off my lawn |

EAG is 10-15 min from our former house in OH... But I was not familiar with them. Sad news. If you ride, please wear a helmet...

Oh man, I saw this yesterday and it was in the back of my mind as I rode several hours with a (speedy) sport touring group out of NYC. I normally ride solo but joined up with these folks for the first time today. I've known about them for years either running into them at rural cafes or through friends of friends. They are into latest/greatest mostly euro motos and do not hesitate to ride them hard. I noted how much more touring oriented my own riding is. I wasn't sweating to keep up but I wasn't relaxing either; they always do similar park roads and hills so they clearly knew the roads. But it wasn't all that, they may be simply better motorcyclists than me and also seem to take slightly higher risk in the twisties. My ergo adjusted (lowered for my knee) pegs were scraping.
