Car brand I'd never heard of until today....the Ineos Grenadier.

Yeah I’ve seen some reviews (basically designed to take the place of old school Defenders), but didn’t know they had them here in the States.

I had to do some research when I got home to figure out what the hell I saw. It had a Mossy license plate frame, which is a big Nissan dealer, so I looked at Nissan's first  Apparently Mossy is now Houston's Ineos dealer. Funny thing...if you Google "Ineos Houston" almost all the hits are about Chemicals, the main business line of Ineos and a huge local industry. |

The Houston dealer has the most comprehensive write up I've found. https://www.mossynissanhouston.com/mossy-family-legacy |

I saw the Grenadier again this morning in the light. Was able to pass it and see the car from all angles. They did a good job. It really does look like a modernized Land Rover 110.
I believe this one is the Grenadier Trialmaster edition. The snorkel could come in handly in Houston... |

Kinda surprised this is just the second one I’ve seen in the wild, especially with as common as all other Teslas are around here
|
I've not seen one yet. I'm sure it is quite the site. Although I suspect after a while they will just look stupid.
|
It definitely already looked stupid :D

There’s one in the Tesla store near my house. The exterior isn’t as bad in person as I expected, though it’s still pretty goofy looking. The interior is laughably bad. And while I’ve hear people say the rear headroom is ok despite the shape, my head was almost touching the glass.
Anyway, here’s a Harlequin Polo I saw on the road as a palette cleanser. |

Never seen what looks like a sticker front plate. Matched the actual plate in the rear.

Somewhat related, I've been wondering why states that require front plates don't allow matching motorcycle-sized plates used as front plates. They could charge a lot and I'm sure people would pay it. They can't argue they are too small since they are big enough for motorcycles. |

The GM of the Tesla store just a few miles from our home got the first one in town about a month and a half ago and for whatever reason he had PPF applied to it. Not matte PPF, regular glossy PPF. |

I’m looking at the two kits available now. Dealer wants to do the work though. They don’t trust me and they want to protect their investment. |
The sticker plates are legal in CA; they are/were running a pilot program for them.
They aren’t legal in other states AFAIK, but I’ve seen a few and if you google you can find a bunch of vendors selling them. I wonder whether it actually keeps the owner from getting a ticket |

I guess they’re a marginal improvement appearance wise, though they only really work on something like the Tesla that has a big flat face on the bumper. I think they’d look goofy on any of my cars.
Agree that it’s wild that states don’t offer different shapes for more money, though maybe it’s just too logistically complex to be worth it. https://licenseplatewrap.com/ |

New 6 series bmw or Mercedes?

Imagine spending 212k plus markup and ending up with a grey PDK with black wheels.

That’s the general shape of the new MB CLE

Fuckin' sweet manual 6 cylinder pagoda. Very good condition, but not quite so nice that you wouldn't want to drive it.

Can’t hear about these cars without thinking of the Beastie Boys. And Abe Vigoda.
