Probably not a great idea. Although I learned to drive in one and it was the family car. Not a 6 cylinder, though...

EDIT: Most kids would probably bitch it is a old 1 series and not a new 240 vert or M2:D

A basically new BMW as a first car for a kid? Not only no but hell no.

Maybe I can find a 30-year-old Volvo somewhere. :)

On old well sorted E36 would be a great choice but very hard to find at this point.
