2021 Mazda CX-5 Thread
I’ve been in the BMW eco system for so many years that driving something difference is quite foreign in some ways.
So, I’m starting this thread as a little notebook of observations about the little UTE. Yesterday’s observations: 1. Why is there no light in the cargo area? My garage has poor lighting and no window. It is DARK back there in the cargo area—very dark. This is a cheapo oversight, IMO. Yet, I have snazzy lighted sill panels for the front doors... 2. Whoa. How is there no odometer? The only way I know how many miles the car has is through the app. I’m one of those weirdos who likes to see the odometer, and mark the passing of milestones. 3. It’s really great to have the new big screen and CarPlay, but—really—I have to physically plug my phone into the system? That is a steep backward from my three-year-old 2 series. |

There's 3 different instrument clusters but odometer shows on all of them

Edit: Will also look for outside temperature display. I’ve been missing that, too. |
Our X7 doesn't proactively show the odometer either. It might be an option but I haven't really messed around with it.

Pulling the odometer and temp display together and adding the initial "i've been in a single walled garden for too long" post describes a world where cars may have reached the "it's too complicated" line. |
There is a light in the cargo area. It's in the door. Sorry for the crap picture, my phone camera fogged up. There is a switch on it, so maybe it's turned off?
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw...-no?authuser=0 The odometer is in the right display, as is the outside temp. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw...-no?authuser=0 |
