My wife would fill the bed on the Ram if she could. I have to turn into some kind of puzzle/packing engineer to get everything in the x3.

I feel like we've had this discussion before. So I worry this will read like a cut and paste from some earlier reply but...
Why on earth does someone need even something as large as an X5 for just two kids? As someone who has two kids, I don't get it. I especially cannot comprehend how going from one kid to two makes an X5 too small. There is a stretch of a few years once they start having closer friends until they start driving when it's nice to be able to fit a couple of extra kids in the car. But you can already do that in an X5. I don't get it. |

EDIT- When our kids were younger, the E36 M3/4 was the "big" car. Even for road trips with two kids, we always had enough space. |
So what happened to strollers? Remember the ones that folded down to the size of a golf bag (or less)? It seems like those are the number one cause of kid paraphernalia bloat.
|
Those strollers were the SUVs of strollers. We had one that never got used because it was so big and unwieldy. We used the nicer variants of the smaller strollers.
We also never did a diaper bag. We had this fold-up changing mat that you could stuff a couple of diapers and a soft-sided pack of wipes in to and it fit in a large handbag. |
We definitely carry around too much baby stuff, including the umbrella stroller which is on the larger side. There is no logical reason to need a car larger than the X5.
If one of you wants to volunteer to speak with my wife about her packing predilections, I'll give you her email address. |
