Cayman vs boxster ... which one to get ...
Here is the deal ... I am pretty sure I am going to get one or the other ...
It's gotta be a 2005 or 2006 boxster or a 2006 Cayman and I am thinking the Cayman has gotten incredible reviews ... some say it's even better then the 911 !?!? The only thing that bothers me is no sunroof but OTOH the interior would be a little more comfy since I don't have the seat against the roll bars that the boxster has ... Pricewise I haven't really checked yet but I would think the boxster might be cheaper :dunno: ... Any input is greatly appreciated ... Just putting this in as I know some will ask ... I am keeping the Vette and will be taking delivery of a 335i in a week or two so this will be in addition ... |
did you use to have a boxster?

Hm. . . .
Do you want a convertible or a fixed roof sports car? Are you likely to squeeze everything out of either car so the comparative deficiencies of the Boxster would REALLY leave you wanting the Cayman? If you are keeping the Vette, does't that have a roof panel that can be removed for some airy driving? |

This sounds kinda obvious, but um.... do you want a convertible or not? :toetap: I don't like convertibles so I'd take the Cayman any day. |
Yeah, I thought you hated and were uncomfortable in your boxster... But then again all porsche interiors changed significantly in 05. Well, I tested them both and went out and bought a new car - something I thought I'd never do again. I feel very strongly about the cayman, had it for 8 months now, record time for equ.
Ru, I thought you were waiting for my Cayman. ;) |

I'm just... uh... making sure I have a backup plan. :D |

The new gen boxster has more interior room which was my biggest problem with the old boxster ...
The convertible versus non convertible is really the only difference like you guys said so I guess the only thing that matters is finding either one at the right price with the right mileage ... Is there really any other difference ? I haven't really read up on the Porsches since I had the last one but if I recall I thought the Cayman had a better engine and might have been a better handler :dunno: |

I'd recommend you try a Z4, as long as you're not put off by the styling, it has a better finished, larger and wider interior, a more solid structure and you wouldn't be buying a car you've already had and disliked - immensely. Ed |
