Kind of cool read. Author didn't seem to "get it", though.

Not sure what you mean. What did he not get? That is the reality of owning such a car in busy NYC/NNJ... I would think the point of this car is for people with substantial track access or for 'special' back road blasts.

How often does our very own TMK go through the tunnels or the West Side Hwy? My guess, not often, even though he crossed the whole country with the thing. But I bet each drive (including the rare one in to the city) is pretty memorable.

Is there anything about the "3"? Or is it someone just now discovering that the Atom exists?

Once :D

But I have my nice un-posted (and thus 50MPH) back roads.

The 3 is very similar to the 2. The differences are that the angled tubes on the side of the frame go the other way, and that it is a standardized international product (no US-specific stuff - even the beneficial changes that Brammo made were discarded).

The 1 had a higher amount of Rover parts (in particular, the engine). The turn/brake/marker lights on the 2 and 2 are still from a Rover (which is why they don't work).

The obvious way to tell a 1 from a 2/3 is to look at the air intake box. The box is a lot shorter and the frame hoop is higher.
