I was almost going to mention that campground

But I think that is Barney Rubble's ride :D

I saw a Euro-spec Golf TDi on the way home today.

I thought it was odd that the US plate was taller than the plate opening in the bumper allowed (so the bottom of the plate was exposed). When I passed it, I noticed that it had a Euro-sized front plate holder (but no plate inside).

The car had commercial plates and a messenger service logo on it. But it also had lettering that said something like "part of a commercial fleet test for the US Dept of Energy" with the following url on it:
http://avt.inel.gov/

lupinsea 02-16-2012 05:48 PM

I saw a 1M the other day. Nice. They are the best looking current production BMWs out there.

Fixed it for ya.

ZBB 02-17-2012 09:17 PM

Saw a Lambo Aventador this afternoon... In yellow (as if it needed more attention)...

lupinsea 02-20-2012 01:17 PM

Saw a Posche Boxster Spyder (the light weight one with the canvas roof flap).

It was parked in front of some pub as we drove through the Snoqualmie valley on our way home from breakfast at he Salish Lodge.

kognito 02-20-2012 02:40 PM

I know that a guy 4 doors down from my new house has an E34 4 door that I see him drive regularly (badges removed so I don't know what it is) Yesterday he had his garage door open, and inside was another 2 door E34 and a yellow E34 M3 that looked like a garage queen (the other 2 door had some road dirt, but the M3 was spotless)

Nice collection, I have to meet this guy.

Oh, and he also has a tow truck parked in front of his house, so I guess he is all set if/when any of the BMW's break down :lol:

Oh!! breakfast by the waterfall!! I always wanted to stop there. You should have seen 202 down the hill from the lodge a day or two after the snow/ice storm!!! It looked like a tornado or bomb blasted there! Trees everywhere, and a lot of gaurdrail damage from the fallen trees.

Have you ever stopped at that store in the center of Carnation with all the old cars?? Gio cars

ZBB 02-20-2012 05:02 PM

Just out while running errands today we saw:

- A yellow F430 (with Massachusetts commercial plates, a number on the side and a camera mount visible between the seats).
- A black 599 GTB
- A Lambo Diablo
- A Lambo Gallardo spyder
- A Rolls Royce Ghost
- and later in the day, a red F430...

Nice, no I hadn't noticed Giordano's . . .

There was still some evidence of fallen trees on 202 but it was mostly cleaned up. But you could seen trees leaning over that had been cut at the guardrail line.

Word of advice for the Salish Lodge: Request tables 1 - 6. They are the best views in private rooms. I can't remember what table we were at but it felt like we were perched right on top of the falls.

Oh, and in case any one is wondering . . . this is Salish Lodge at Snoqualmie Falls:

Behind it is Mt. Si and the Cascades . . the dining tables look out over the alls and beyond to the Snoqualmie Valley below the falls and you can see almost all the way to Puget Sound.

And Kog, you're perfectly situated up in Monroe for a direct and wonderful drive up the rural, and almost pastoral Snoqualmie right to the falls and the Lodge.

TD 02-21-2012 03:41 PM

Stood on that spot a few years back. Gorgeous.

Yeah, it's a pretty area and beautiful falls.

My dad and I would go camping back in the mountains behind the falls. We'd head about 25 miles back into the hills up the north fork of the Snoqualmie river. Between the two of us we have been up there for about 50-60 years and now I'm taking my son camping up there, too.

Pix below are where we go camping. The one with the fire pit and smoke is looking downstream. . . about 30+ miles away is Snoqualmie Falls. The second one is on the gravel road heading to the campsite. It's another 3 miles to the camp site and at the point of the photo you'd have been traveling about 20 miles on the gravel mountain road.

I have driven past the falls, probably a hundred times in the past 8 months. Interesting how it creates its own weather in the area when the temps are close to freezing. Fog generator, mist generator, cloud generator not to mention 24/7 electricity generation!

Isn't that the hotel from Twin Peaks?

Yes, and North Bend (a town a few miles east of Lupe's picture) was also used for Twin Peaks. Lots of memorabilia in a diner in the center of North Bend (diner was used in the series also)

lupinsea 02-23-2012 06:44 PM

And they filmed the TV show Northern Exposure over in Roslyn, WA . . . it's about 50 miles east of North Bend / Snoqualmie / Salish Lodge. But it's on the other side of the mountains.

FC 02-23-2012 07:50 PM

My wife loved that show when it played, and got me to watch the whole series through Netflix last year.

Strange show, but kind of cool.

Saw my first Lexus LF-A on the road

ZBB 03-05-2012 05:59 AM

Saw an early-to-mid 60s Ferrari convertible, probably a 275 GTS. Didn't get a great look at it since it was going the other way...

Don't you mean 88?

ZBB 03-12-2012 05:49 PM

I saw an old MG T-something (don't know if it was a TA, TB, TC, TD, etc) on Sat.

It appeared to be in its natural habitat: On the side of the road being loaded onto a flatbed

So, you may be able to tell that it was rather grungy looking. The side windows were cloudy and the overall color was rather dirty.

What's odd is that from the license plates, one can conclude that they only bought this car a few months before we got our M3C (April 2010). I can't imagine buying a used, mediocre condition DeLorean.

I can't imagine there are a great many available if you are in the market.

About a week ago, I saw a red(?!) DeLorean chillin' on a car carrier down here. There were two other cars on the carrier of no special pedigree.

TD 03-12-2012 07:32 PM

I thought they were all stainless.

IIRC, they were all unpainted stainless from the factory, except for a few gold plated cars. I've heard of people who managed to find a way to paint them afterwards.

I wish I could have gotten a better pic of this thing--mid 90s Cadillac Fleetwood (B Body) on what looked like a monster truck chassis sporting 30"+ chrome rims.

Taken in my rear view mirror.
