Hmmm. I wonder if the Porsche Phatbox is compatible with your car?

Is it MOST? That's the particular bitch with the 987s--they went to the fiber optic ring system for peripherals.

Nope. But there may be aftermarket adapters to use either a Kenwood changer or an "old Alpine" changer, and the Phatbox can emulate both of those. There's also the VW / Audi Phatbox flavors if you can convert to one of those.

The Dension is about the only thing I can find that provides inputs and translates them into something the MOST ring can understand. There may be others, but a quick scan of the boards hasn't turned them up.

I may ultimately go that route, but it won't be for a while yet. I'm still feeling poor from buying the car.

Yeah, I seriously love this frickin' car.
Especially on a day like today, when it's just sort of almost warm enough to put the top down--even though there are still four foot piles of snow everywhere.

I am having a remarkably hard time getting this post and the associated photo to work, BTW.

It’s funny going back and reading this thread; over the years I’ve replaced the steering wheel with a sport model, added first an RF modulator and then a Dension, added clear markers, and repacked the sticky knobs (that turned out to be a $150 set of parts, fwiw). Also added the sport exhaust and a GT3 shift knob, and 20,000 miles.

Relatively light interventions, considering how long you've had it.

20,000 miles in 10 years? What...do you drive it backwards to keep the miles down?

I was thinking the same thing. That's a good 9 months for us.

JST 02-03-2020 09:42 PM

I drive it once every few weeks in the winter and probably once or twice a week in the summer. I’d probably drive it more if it weren’t such a pain to uncover and unplug, but the upside is that means I rarely drive it in the rain.

It was funny driving it today—it’s the slowest of my three cars by a pretty substantial margin, and more than that it’s power delivery is languid compared to the other two. But it’s so precise and easy to place—such a pleasure to drive, especially with the top down.

Oh, no, I don't think so--I went looking for their website 5 or so years ago and it seemed to be gone.
