The main thing I've learned is that there's always a way to do something. It's the figuring out or learning what that is when necessary. I still can't get over how bent of shape I got wth the Focus rear brakes a couple years ago when I couldn't get the piston to retract on the first side...and then again when I couldn't get the tool out of the other caliper after retracting that piston.

I also vaguely remember the site owner screaming that if anyone damages the concrete driveway they're paying or it to be replaced and / or repaired.
