Maybe I am being too optimistic, but any kind of IC engine on an Boxster mule probably means one will be able to buy MTs and a super pricey NA H6 for a few more years.

I thought it was a 987 but you had said a 2007 981S which threw me off ... as far as desirable color, I think if you are older and like burgundy it might be but that to me is one of the least desirable colors

Ah yes, my bad. That was a typo.

I mean I wouldn't describe myself as "older" but I like it a lot. It's an interesting color that has a lot more going on than just being burgundy.

More broadly (though still anecdotally) cars like this in actual colors (as opposed to silver, black, or white) tend to do pretty well. They're rare and obviously weren't super popular when the cars were new (or else there would be more of them), but that rarity now means they're pretty desirable.

I suspect you'd still be able to sell a silver or white Boxster faster than one in Carmona red, if you were advertising it locally, but at an auction with a national reach? I'd rather be selling one in an interesting color.

I think if you're older, as I am, you probably ODed on burgundy in the '80s. (I had two burgundy Hondas in the late '80s and early '90s.)

So, I avoided the color for many years. But, I have to say, the Boxster looks great in the color. It's red without screaming red.

I may be ready for more burgundy in my life again. (And always have been, when it comes to wine!)

But I wouldn’t rule it out if the rest of the car was equipped well. But I haven’t ever been picky about options either.
