There are 1000 reasons that buying a 911 convertible is a bad idea.

But this looks like a nice one at a pretty good price.

Good price and a great color combination.

accident?

That would be a very nice replacement for the M3.

accident?

Maybe. Or maybe just the difficulty of selling a cab in the middle of winter. If you are going to buy a convertible, now is the time to do it.

I'd replace both the Golf and the Boxster with this if there were a plausible way that the kids would ride in it with the top up.

Not a fan of the white. Could you get the adaptive sport seats in the cabrio? I know they're a simple plug and play but it could be difficult to find some in that color.

EDIT: are the back seats even smaller in the cabrio than in the coupe?

I meant there is an accident in the CARFAX

And I'd replace the Golf and M3 with it if my kids both didn't have legs.

I meant there is an accident in the CARFAX
And the listing explicitly states "CARFAX CERTIFIED NO ACCIDENTS OR DAMAGE".

The CarFax states a front impact without airbag deployment. That may justify the price but doesn't sound serious enough to deter me from considering the car. I'd just want to know where it was fixed.

One line above the accident report, it was also reported as stolen and recovered

I personally really like the exterior color. I saw one of the 50th anniversary cars with that exterior and the houndstooth interior treatment and thought it looked great. The carfax data is a put off, but if you can get details on it from another source (can your boxster mechanic find out the maintenance/repair history), it might be a good negotiation lever.

*edit: I just saw the interior was cocoa, double win

* edit, edit, this is the cocoa houndstooth interior that I thought was awesome on the 50th anniversary car:

a lot of vert fans on this board, maybe it is a east coast thing because of the weather?

Doesn't San Diego have convertible weather 330+ days a year?

That is a pretty car. I've alway's loved white Porsches (might have something to do with all 3 of my dad's were white - his '56 Speedster and '62 Roadster were both white over dark red leather), and his '89 Speedster was white over black leather…

White over Cocoa is really a good combo…

I haven't read the Carfax, but perhaps this was a valet joyride car that resulted in the theft and a rear-ending of another car?

yeah we do but since everyday no reason to get convertible. You guys have less nice days so want to maximize those days :dunno:

Here in CT, 60 or so miles outside of NYC, vert weather goes from late March into early November ... with the occasional mid-winter "good day".

Heated seats and a strong heater make it nice, especially with a windscreen.

After almost ten years of vert ownership, it'd be hard to give it up - it makes ordinary driving
a pleasure, and the tops are so well made today, there's little compromise in bad weather.

About the only downside is cowl shake, and you get used to that.

The passenger side dash looks frighteningly 70s-80s Americana.

Agreed 100% ... There are plenty of 911's for sale, there is no reason to settle for one that was stolen and in an accident.

It looked great as part of the 50th package. The exterior was a coffee cream/white (I think the same as car JST posted). The whole package fit the retro 50th look well.

There must be something wrong with me because I think the 991S looks better than any 991TT.
