From the window sticker of a new Mustang at a local dealer.

note--they had at least 7 on the lot, all with the same sticker.

Gauging consumer interest and reaction prior to slapping $20k AMV on Shelby GT350?

What's the $499 line item? Can't quite read it or I can, but can't figure out what it means.

It says "Key MD." Not sure what it is; lots (all?) of the cars had it, not just the Mustang. I tried to google it last night but nothing came up.

There is a Jeep/Chrysler dealer in my town that has one of those stickers on EVERY single new car on their lot, and they 10-15 Darts on their lot!

Wish I had taken a picture, but when I turned in my 128 two weeks ago to Pacific BMW in Glendale, CA....they had 2 i8's on the showroom floor. Beautiful cars. MSRP was $137,000 on each IIRC and each had a $100,000 market value adjustment on top of that. Plus each had a sign on the driver window that said something like 'car to remain locked at all times, NO test drives.' I'm sure there's more than 2 suckers who will scoop those cars right up!! :ack:

I remember seeing that on every Honda on several D.C. area lots, and this was ten years ago. Price negotiations started with crossing it off the list, and whiny dealers got left behind.

It's a shitty practice, but at least we're talking Mustangs here. They wouldn't list it if one or two suckers didn't pay it every time...

it's good for them, if they can get it.

don't they sell anywhere from 50,000 to 100,000 mustangs a year, though? pretty short window to get a premium.

i know they're having some supplier issues with some interior bits and pieces, which would slow production down, though. :eeps:

I remember when the Mazda Miata debuted in 1989/1990 and dealers were charging (in Chicago area) $30,000 for the car that first year. The MSRP was around $15,000. The idiots who payed the $30k had a car that in 2 or 3 years was worth $10k.

I am taking This 2015 mustang (http://www.bickford.net/new/Ford/2015-Ford-Mustang-Seattle+WA-eeef88530a0a006577f3c687bb0983e8.htm) out on a test drive on Wednesday while I wait for the Fusion's oil to be changed.

3K under MSRP.

I am becoming friends with one of the salesmen there, and he says he knows someone who wants a V8 quattro Audi :dunno:

I think I would rather have Recaro's though

Interested to hear how it compares. I bet the Mustang feels like a torque monster next to the Audi, but the real question is how is the refinement?

yeah, and a few weeks ago, in Hawaii, I rented a POS 2014 mustang convertible. (rental, so bone stock) I'm sure this will be a much better ride.

Forecast is for heavy rain on Wednesday

More reasonable price too, $45k for the previous one was a bit much to swallow

Guys in service finished the Fusion before the sales guys showed up so didn't drive the Mustang.

An enclosed trailer delivered 2 2015 Roush RS models while I was waiting. Very sharp looking, but both were 2 pedal autotragic.

You should have broken something else on the Fusion to delay things until the sales guy showed up. :)

Well, one of the paddle shift buttons on the steering wheel failed on the way home. I doubt Jutta uses them, or even knows what they are for
