Due to various factors, I am looking at selling the M3 Lightweight.

1995, about 58K miles (have to go out and check for exact number). Third owner. First was a lady in Norther CA who bought it and used it as a daily driver. Second was Rich Beebe, who bought it and brought it East.

It is currently set up for autocross:

Koni DA Shocks
H&R Sport Springs
UUC Sway Bars
UUC Short Shifter
Borla muffler
Conforti chip
96+ hats swapped for more negative camber
Schroth 4 point harnesses (red - both driver and passenger)

Have all the stock parts that were removed for above setup.

It does not have AC, but does have an aftermarket radio installed. The rear speakers are out of the car, but included (they make it hard to get to the top of the shocks to adjust them).

The water pump and thermostat housing have been changed.

It has wing, with spacers, X-brace, strut bar installed. The special LTW oil pan and pump are included (with all the parts) but not installed. It does NOT have the LTW splitter, but last time I checked, that was still available from Turner.

Comes with the stock wheels, with 2 extra fronts (one is the "spare" and one extra). Also comes with a set of Kosei K-1 wheels with some VERY old Ho-Ho tires. Two spacers for the rear are included (I can't remember the thickness, but appropriate for the setup).

I am going to start high at $60,000.

I figured give the Carmudgeons first shot.

I had no idea what the market value was for these cars. Wow! But it certainly is unique. Do you have any pics?

If you returned it to stock, what would EAG give you?

That's a good question.

If only I had a barn (and unlimited funds.)

I would think EAG would want to give you as little as possible, then turn around and charge an arm and a leg for it.

But maybe I'm just in a very bad mood today

Well, that is pretty much the strategy of every used car dealer.

As a rule, EAG has been willing to buy cars for strong prices on the private party market. Then they spend a couple bucks cleaning them up and resell for $10k+ more. It's a good business if you can make it work.

Come on Nick, you KNOW you really want it. :)

And I want it to go to a good home.

It will be up here only for a couple of weeks (for various reasons), then advertised more widely.

What I want to do is buy it, fit AC, and ship it back to CA to use when I'm out there. (My parents are wintering out there, and my sister lives out there.)

But... I can't do $60k. Not even close. :( Especially not when we are looking at putting out huge amounts of cash to buy and build a place.

Sell the Turbo.

Done and done.

As much as I'd like an LTW, I'd rather have the Turbo. :p

It's nutty to me that a lightweight with that many miles is still worth $60k. I thought the prices on them were bonkers ten years ago but holy crap. GLWS.

Pinecone

Not really hard miles. Most of them were the original owner commuting.

I have not put 2K miles on it.

And $60K is an asking price, as I know that anyone on this forum would try to knock it down. :)

Lightweight should have there x-brace (1).

Lightweight should have there x-brace (1).

you should be on that e36 m3 thread, poster claiming the standard m3 bar should be reinstalled behind it like is shown in the above pic. I was wondering if the LTW was that way since it has the x cross brace installed.

It's not physically possible.

Edit: Oh, I see, moved further back. Why not? It's not a factory install that way, but if it fits, sure.

I don't really see a lot of point, mind you. Another bar a few inches back isn't going to do a lot.

I agree but figured if BMW did it then I would too.

Did you get the X-brace? My 99 vert manual trans had it but then again all of the E36 M3 verts did. I also had a strong strut tower bar installed that really helped!! I bought it from JST when he sold his.

That was quick, hope you got a price you're happy with.

The ad says one owner, that's a mistake isn't it?

Didn't think this was worth an all new thread, but its a pretty good article on the history of all generations of the M3:
