Looks sweet. Post it on 1Addicts............there's lots of interest there for 6 speeds.

What are you replacing it with?

Replacing it with a Miata. That until you or Plaz sell me your 1M.

How did you like it? I'm currently considering swapping the 335 for a 135 convertible.

Oh such nice condition!

I can't believe it's been 5 years since the 135i came out.

Tempted, however my number 1 priority in a vehicle these days is the ability to fit a bicycle easily. I'm pretty sure this has less rear space than my e46, right?

jpgurl, does the rear seat fold down?

Yep. Split back seat. Both sides fold down. I've never tried to cram a bike in there though.

Good deal................congrats on the purchase.

Won't speak for Plaz, but at this time I'm having too much fun to accept an offer thanks. :)

According to this (http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=892111&highlight=fit+bike+in+trunk) thread if it's a road bike and you remove the front wheels it will fit up to two bikes in the boot with both seats folded.

Roof rack is the way to go for bmw's & bikes... I've even driven to upper Maine with bikes on top of the e39, 500 miles each way.

I like the trailer hitch racks:dunno:

Ugh, I hate roof racks. Hate hate. They're expensive, and the part that actually bolts to the car itself is expensive, and they are ugly and make noise and hurt gas mileage when not being used.

Roof racks have some very big positive sides. If you like your bike more than your car, there is no better way to secure your bike. The last few BMW racks I had screwed right into the roof rails. It was a fantastic set up.

But if you change cars frequently, the cost is crazy. Plus, when I got the Z4, I had to figure something out to carry the bike. There is NO OPTION for a roof mount (obviously) or a trunk mount (that was surprising). So I had a hitch installed and switched to hitch racks. Yes, the bike gets dirty. On the other hand, the dirt is dust, not bugs. On the Z4, it still impacts gas mileage b/c it's not really out of the wind stream (small car). The Yukon . . . not so much. The two bike rack with latches for the wheels can leave marks where the bar that hold the bike in place hits the top tube. The four bike rack that hangs them is not nearly as secure and does not work well for the Z4 - I looked back in the rear view mirror once and saw the bike at about a 45 degree angle from the wind flow with the top down. But it's rock solid on the Yukon.

I expect the new A4 to arrive in the next week or so. Cost of a roof rack set up is about $700 from Thule or from Audi. Cost of a trailer hitch to hold my existing hitch mount racks is about $200. Tough to complain about. When I am ready for the expense of my next bicycle, I will continue to use trailer hitch racks I think . . . but people that really love their bikes typically prefer the roof mounts.

And there is that drive the bike into the garage on top of the car thing . . .

The bmw racks I used cost about $150 and you can sell back for around $100.. The Thule echelon that I matched up to them (with some minor modifications) is portable and will work on any aero rack. I have transported bikes in and out of cars, there is simply no comparison. The front fork mount is very secure (I don't like roof racks which leave the front wheel on). Gas mpg does take a hit, but the screw-in bmw rack removes in 5 minutes. Bike might get a few flies/bugs, but better than clanging around in the trunk.

Um. If you like your bike more than your car, the bike travels inside the vehicle, not outside.

If it doesn't fit, you get a different vehicle...
