Why the heck were they racing in those conditions???

Then again, if you're rich enough to be racing those cars, I would assume this is no big deal for them.

There was carnage at Oulton Park yesterday as the British GT Championship took to the track only to be dumped on by torrential rain ten minutes into the race. A particularly full field of cars was tiptoeing around a track still damp from an earlier shower when a cloudburst resulted in instant flooding and chaos on track.

If it's anything like the disaster that happened at the BMWCCA CR event at Watkins Glen, it may not have been raining at the other end of the track. Nothing like a last lap deluge on a downhill run into a hairpin...

That track worker was lucky. Jumped backwards, up and over the blue viper at precisely the right moment to avoid being leveled.

I thought that he fell down and was able to escape being hit since the viper's rear was already pushed up in the air.
