NOTE: I copied and pasted this from an e-mail digest from the E30 M3 SIG (special interest group). I am simply spreading the word, nothing more, nothing less.
EMAIL campaign for BMW & PTG Racing!
BMW is pulling out of factory racing in the United States for
2007. PTG and BMW are a team and we should let BMW know that it is
important that they continue in some form to keep the enthusiasts
following the marque.
BMW CCA did make a difference in making the E36 M3 come to the
US. Lets try again to make a difference in the PTG and BMW race
team. If you care about your BMW and racing, could you take a moment
and email BMW NAs president Tom Purves and copy Tom Milner
(PTG). Their email addresses are below.
Tom.purves@bmwna.com And please copy Tom Milner: ptgbmw@aol.com
Here are some suggestions for your Email:
What BMWs factory involvement in racing means to you as a BMW
customer, enthusiast, or friend of the brand.
The negative effects on your brand loyalty caused by the loss of a
factory race program.
The importance of continuity within a race series, in terms of having
a say in rules and regulations, maintaining sponsors, maintaining
team members and drivers, etc.
How does BMWs factory race effort promote the blood line of bThe
Ultimate Driving Machineb and what does it do to our credibility as
bThe Ultimate Driving Machineb when we arenbt racing?
The importance of the promotion of the M Brand and what the cars are made
of.
The possibility of losing fans to another marque that is racing.
IMSA says it is okay to have the 8 cylinder in the E46 M3 for 2007.
BMW needs to remember that racing is not only a marketing exercise,
it is a matter of pride and brand identity.
Join us in the campaign and lets make a difference!
