Yikes. Lemming, they've built a car just for you.

507 hp. 7 speeds. 7 seats. AWD. 0-60 in 4.6 seconds.
This thing is freaking hilarious.
Sounds like the right tow vehicle for Nick.

Only if it's body-on-frame.

Right now I'm saying my prayers that BMW doesn't get similar ideas with their people movers. Good thing the names "M5" and "MX5" are already spoken for.

Why? What would it matter if they did?

There would be even less room on the dealer lots for manual transmission'ed 3 series to test drive.
A hi-po manual tranny 7 passenger BMW minivan is just what the doctor ordered. I'd go put down a deposit this afternoon.
Granted I'm a pretty small target demographic.

Does anyone think this thing is even remotely handsome?

I guess I see the M division as a small part of BMW, and their resources should focus on cars that have a chance of being somewhere near "Motorsports". :dunno:
But if ///M is for solely for ///Marketing these days, then by all means...

So you won't drive an SUV, but you'll drive something that handles even worse than an SUV?

Yea, but nothing would scream louder "I have a giant cock" better than a BMW minivan would.
So you won't drive an SUV, but you'll drive something that handles even worse than an SUV?
Why would a minivan, which would have (presumably) a lower CoG than an X5, necessarily handle worse than an SUV?
I mean, it might. But there's no way to know for sure at this point. And, assuming a hypothetical BMW answer to the R class, it's likely to have a lot more space inside than even the new X5, which might make some handling tradeoffs v. a sedan or wagon justifiable.

 True that.

I've yet to meet a minivan that didn't handle worse. The big reason is the soft suspensions. I mean really, really soft. Take a corner at anything but a snail's pace, and you can hear the outside fenders scraping on the pavement.

e63 4matic wagon is still cooler to me.
Hmmm... it would be outreagously expensive new, but a used one a few years old...
My wife thinks it's ugly as sin, so that would never work anyhow.

Aside from the faux-macho BS element of SUVs, minivans do have a lower center of gravity (which, with a proper suspension, would result in better handling) and, generally, provide more practicality than SUVs.
Unless I had a trailer of some sort (boat, bike, etc) to haul around, I can't see where an SUV would be a better choice than a minivan. Even going offroad isn't exactly the forte of many/most SUVs.

do they make awd minivans?
Given that the title of this thread is "AWD AMG R63," I'd say the answer is "yes."

I think wrt minivans, handling is a relative term.
Having said that, a Honda Odyssey is an awful nice ride for what it is.

It's pretty hard to beat. Reasonably fast, too.

It is true .. the ody was a great minivan though I doubt we'd ever get another one ...
One thing for certain, I don't care who you are, a man driving a minivan makes you feel like a geek ...
