Sure sounds nice. They didn't put anybody else on the road at risk or anything though.

Ah, home.

I love the conditions of the freeways in DTW.

Looks like a couple of guys that need a good swift crowbar to the neck.

There's a lot of money in DTW, but I suspect that this was during the Dream Cruise festivities a couple of weeks ago.

Wow, 140ish mph. That sounds fast even for Detroit freeways, which seem to travel at 80 mph in blizzard conditions. Why is is the asshats always have the silly money?

Did you hear one of them say that the GT had the GT's chief designer on board?

LOL. Guess we wasn't planning on living long enough to design its successor.

Another Z06 vs. Ford GT vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdGvms2VaGw&NR

Nice soundtrack. . . . and that Z06 seems to just leave the GT in the dust.

FGT didn't look like it was even pushing it. (in either video).

No--it was a piece of something like the Gumball Rally.

These videos sure help prove that a lot of engineering know-how is being wasted for the benefit of wealthy, socio-pathic men with no common sense.

In fact, I can see this kind of footage being collected by the anti-car types and one day (after a handful of high-profile 'incidents') being presented in front of congress as part of a anti-superpower automobile initiative.

Youtube is certainly going to play an interesting part in our future.

We needed proof of that? Wealthy, socio-pathic men with no common sense have been the prime drivers of technology throughout history.

Here's my best guess at route:

The video starts just as they come across the Ambassador Bridge, as they are getting onto the ramp onto 75N (42 19 22.19N 83 04 57.37W). Very quickly that turns into I-96, and they then take the off-ramp from 96N to 94W.

The video ends just after they pass the Rouge Plant on I-94. At the 5:26 mark, they go by the Ford sign in front of the Rouge. With the help of Google Earth, that is at 42 deg. 17' 15.38 N, 83 deg 11' 39.95 W.

FWIW, that's an 8.9 mile trip, in 5'26." My math sucks, but I think it's fair to say that they may have been speeding.

Cool info, JST. That's a damn fast pace through traffic (~100mph? off the top of my head). Not that the video alone didn't tell us that.

Where's the fuzz during all of this shenanigan's? Bursts of up to 144mph and no sign of a state trooper or anything. Although I thought early on there might have been one in plain wrapper burgundy Lincoln.

I even think of going triple digits and I'm sure the entire State of Indiana law enforcement officials would be all over me reminiscent of the scene at the end of the Blues Brothers where they get to the State building to pay the taxes and 500 cops plus SWAT team are there to greet them.

They are in Detroit. There is some police presence on the freeways (state cops, mostly), but generally the Detroit PD has better things to do than set up speed traps.

I have driven that section of 94 many, many times. I don't know that I've ever seen a cop with a car pulled over.

i was fascinated watching that video.

but at the same time, i fully recognize that the driving like that is reckless --i don't question the skill of the drivers' as much as those of the other cars on the road.

cool video, but overall, a big thumbs down from me. endangering other people is not cool.

i don't call them psychotic, though. just irresponsible.

If JST is right about the distance, the average speed was 98.3. In traffic. That car sure sounds nice though, doesn't it?
