Just thought some of you might be interested in some info I found out this evening. I'm getting an order together of some maintenance items for my Mercedes (and an item or two for the 02).
I entered the same exact order at three places to see what the total would be... I obviously didn't follow through with two of them, but did on the one cheaper....

Where did I look?
http://www.importeccatalog.com/
http://www.mercedesshop.com/
and
http://www.thebenzbin.com/

I'll skip all the gory details but I will tell you what I looked up....
2 valve cover gaskets (for the 02)
And for the Mercedes:
1 set of PBR Deluxe front pads, 1 Antenna body seal, 1 Voltage regulator, 1 Interior door handle, 1 Grill screen insert, 7 Piece chrome trim for grill
3 Gal of MBZ Antifreeze,2 Air Filters, 3 Oil Filters, 8 NGK BP5ES plugs, 1 Oil Pressure Sender, 1 Wiper blade insert set, 1 Distributor Cap, 1 Rotor

Now for the totals....
(All have free shipping and no sales tax for me)

The Benz Bin.... $453
Mercedes Shop... $418
and
Importec... $395

To be honest, I've been using these folks for a few years now. I used to deal wtih a fella in Texas (a small shop) and got to know him pretty good. Good enough to say "Hi, this is Kevin from Washington" and he'd know what my car was and all I had to do was tell him what I wanted. He'd fill in the rest of the info and I'd have my parts in a few days.

I called him one time for an order and he told me that he was going over to Importec. I really didn't want to change to them as I had good luck with the company he was working wiith before. Well, they blew me off on a parts price and availlability request I had so I switched to these fellas and have been there for my Mercedes parts ever since.

To be honest, I use the more traditional places that cater to the older BMW's (for the 2002) but still thought some of you with newer cars might want to know what I have here.....

On a side note, that WorldPac system that these places use makes it super easy to comparison shop as I just did. It took me only about half an hour to figure all this out. It took me longer to type out this note than it did to to get all three quotes...

Oh, and by the way... If any of you have a favorite source for parts, I'd be interested in hearing about it.

Thanks
(hope you found this useful...)
