in the F-250 last evening.

GAWD!!!!!

15 quarts of oil!!! I thought it would never stop draining out of the pan. I found out the '15' quart drain pan is filled TO THE BRIM with 15 quarts.
Luckily I had a smaller container to intercept a portion of the stream. I had planned on using it for catching the diesel when I change the fuel filters down there.

Oh - For those or you familiar with 'old' diesels.... The oil here was NOT a thick black mess. Not too bad actually. Also - hot 5W-40 flows like water out of the drain.
REAL Fast...

I also changed both fuel filters. I can still smell diesel in the garage from what splashed onto my clothes.

Interesting thing about changing the oil filter. It uses what looks like a carbon copy of the housing in my E38. Same 36mm socked to remove the cap and cartridge filter within. Funny how the technology gets around.

My father-in-law has a hobby farm and likes to collect old vehicles and machinery. I was talking with him about the old semi he uses to haul hay, and he mentioned buying oil in 55 gallon drums as it was something like 10 gallons per change.
