Most of the production specs look good. The hp (300 in the GT) is a bit of a surprise--I'd been hearing 280 until very recently. 3 valves per cylinder, SOHC, and VVT. Oh, yeah, on 87 octane. That's pretty impressive, considering that the ultra-high tech Valvetronic BMW engine only makes 25-30 more hp.
A solid rear axle remains. Weight isn't great (3450 lbs), but the balance is decent (53/47). The GT sticks with the 5 spd manual Tremec, and in all honesty doesn't need 6 gears. And hey, BMW, Ford even puts twin pot calipers on the V6 Mustang. Where are they on my 333 hp M3?
