Basically, I'd sell it to one of you guys for less than I would some stranger.

But, really, make an offer.

I gotta admit it's a tempting car to buy ... it has really low mileage, looks mint plus I always liked that car ...

Include delivery and I'd be interested ...

Is the roof power ?

Has it had any paintwork ?

I can vouch that the 'Mudgeons discount is pretty awesome. You get a meticulously maintained car for that price, too. The only problem is that TD will send you away with ten pounds of paperwork that details every bit of work done on the car. Hurts your gas mileage quite a bit on the way home.

With only 35K miles and no mods, this one has a lot less paperwork.

It was hit in the rear last year and has an OE DOT-R rear trunk lid. Neighboring panels got fresh paint and the bumper cover is new. Otherwise, all panels and paint are original. The car is straight and has no lingering issues. But it has had work. At the time it happened, I was very concerned. But everything turned out fine.

And the top is power.

Honestly, the two events have no relation to one another. They really don't.

The Saab is next. But I doubt I'd offer it up here. It'll probably go straight to Carmax.

Not to sound like Fernando, but once the convertible is sold, I'll start scouting for V70Rs (used). When I find one (good price/miles/etc), the Saab will go straight to Carmax.

End result, one E90 330i and one V70R.

OT, but V70R's cost a whopping ~15K less than an E350 4Matic Wagon.

And I'm guessing used values tank. My wife still wants a slushie:rolleyes: , but that will probably make it that much easier to find one vs a MT.

Right now, the FWD-biased AWD, crappy slushie, and seemingly chronic unreliability scare me. Not that the E350 is that much better reliability-wise, but it also has other things going for it. While in the realm of unreliable european wagons, I guess I might as well look at an allroad since it has variable height suspension and would fix any lust I may have ever had for an SUV.

I've got time...

Third row seating, AWD wagon w/300HP, 6-spd manual, and w/4-pot Brembo brakes. Not too many vehicles like that out there.

I've seen ads. I'll start looking once the 'vert is gone.

But that one does appear to be prett cheap w/relatively low miles.

Grab it.

I wish. It will take lots of convincing to get my wife to go for a MT. I can't imagine going back to slushy now that I've not driven one for over a year. And driving my dad's F150 sure doesn't help.:ack:

Make sure you get a long warranty with the Volvo ... as much as I think my wife's XC90 is a great car whenever I go to the dealer it always has a laundry list of warranty items to fix.

Interesting. We have had our V70 car in for warranty work twice. Once for a failed mass air sensor (that was a potential strand by the side of the road problem, but it happened close enough to home that Kelley was able to limp home) and one was a fuel pressure sensor. Oh, and the power steering tank to hose connection leaked. They fixed that too, so three times.

That's it in 45k miles. I wish my BMWs (or my Cadillac) were that good. And Blackstone says the engine is great based on the latest oil analysis. I expect this car to be running and in our hands 7 years from now and turning over 200k miles.

Well, it looks like the convertible may be sold.

I just emailed the (likely) buyer accepting their offer.

Two down, one to go.

My wife is having a tough time with it. We've had the car since March of 1999. That's over 7 years. It's getting picked up this afternoon.

For her, it's just sad (as opposed to bittersweet). I really like the car but have nowhere near the level of attachment to it that she does. But she objectievly understands the car makes no sense right now.

Will you now be a two-car family, or is a fun third car in the picture?

No. We are doing all of this to get down to two cars, at least until my wife goes back to work.

Ok but, I have no idea what your circumstances are, it's important to keep in mind our wives need something that keeps them tied to their youth - some independence, especially from mommy-hood.

Start saving up for that Miata convertible.

Ed
I've offered that up NOW (you can get a decent old one for ~$5K) but she wants (needs?) a convertible that she can still put the kids in as there aren't too many opportunities for her to drive somewhere without them. She said that if she had a Miata, it would never leave the house.
