So I was bitching and moaning on rennlist about how sucky PSM is and how it doesn't allow power on oversteer and all.

And supposedly, my PSM is broken, beause several Turbo guys there chimed in and said that they are able to hold a nice drift with the PSM off and stomping on the throttle in 1st while keeping the steering bound up.

Mine? I turn it off, I try to do that, the PSM light on the dash flickers on and off.

Maybe it be broken.

It is going to be an interesting visit to the dealer while I work with them to "reproduce the problem."

But hey, if this allows me to drive the Turbo sideways, I just might keep it, since my wife actually really likes the car.

We shall see...

Well, I found out that the buyout for the Turbo is 85K, and it currently has 24K miles.

This is in line with the going rate for this car.

And it just so happened that there is a yellow GT2 with 10K miles that just showed up on the market that is asking 125K.

Hmm, I wonder what time they close today.

you're d-u-m if you don't hurry over there to look at it.

those are becoming more and more rare (they were to begin with) and if you then get the fancy for a 997TT or 997GT2, it's not like you'd lose that much money if much at all.

That buyout might be pretty high Stuka. I have a friend that is looking at turbos and they have started to drop fairly sharply since the new version was announced. I think he was looking at one with a warranty and something like 8k miles for $72k. It was a 2002 I think. Other cars he has been watching are also having the prices dropped.

I am not claiming to have positive knowledge, but it's worth looking into.

I did a survey on cars.com, autotraders.com, and the usual P car sites, and 2003's have not dropped as much as 2002 mainly because 2002's are now out of warranty. So unless you buy it form a dealer with CPO, the individual cars are going to be iffy...

Anyway, we shall see...

WIth 24k miles it sounds like you might break even ... is this a lease ...

If it is you might be able to put it on swap a lease

That's nothing.

In Montreal, dealerships are closed on Sundays, holidays (and they have a bunch), the day before, of, and after Xmas, and close daily by 5 or 6pm.

That's right.

 ...yes.

EDIT: I actually asked her family at Xmas just when the hell people get to shop for cars if they work for a living? Answer: Saturdays.

And they are probably open from 10am to 4pm, I'm sure.

EDIT #2: http://laval.bmw.ca/en/pub/retailer/1.aspx

So they are open form 9am to 9pm now, but no Saturdays or Sundays at all!!!
