WTB: 2-button E36 alarm remote

I just found out that my car has the BMW alarm installed, meaning I have keyless entry. However, my car didn't come with the remote key fob for it. Does anybody have one for sale?

But unlike some devices, I don't think this is a "learning" remote. If the frequency of the remote and the frequency of the "base" do not match, I don't think it'll work.

But installing the entire keyless entry system/alarm from BWM is pretty easy and not that expensive. And it comes with new remotes.

I'm wondering why you think you have it installed and are just missing the remotes. The E36 comes pre-wired and when you get the keyless entry/alarm system, you only install a couple of components. You don't actually wire anything. I suspect you might jsut have the standard pre-wiring without those additional components.

One quick thing to check- Do you have the siren? It's at the very front of he engine bay in the passenger side front corner.

Yeah, I have the siren, which should mean that the unit is installed.

And from what I've read you can program any remote just as long as it's the right one (2 button for 96 +, 3 button for 92-95.)

Of course, I'd be annoyed that the seller you bought from wasn't courteous enough to dig up the remotes for you when you bought the car.

But accepting that, I'd try eBay.

Well we bought it from a used car dealership, so I didn't expect them to. And it would be pointless to try and get it from them if they had it...it was hard enough to get the title sent.

I can't find one on eBay though. I guess if I can't fine one, I can get one from the dealer ($98.75 or something like that)

Umm, I just noticed this, but are you searching completed items only?

And I think the reason I coldn't find any is because I used E36 in the title instead of BMW.
