I think this is everything, but it wouldn't surprise me if I've forgotten a thing or two. Hopefully someone will show up with a camera and actually document the process.

rebuild all calipers
install stainless steel brake lines
install brake ducting/backing plates
remove rear backing plates
install new rear rotors
install new brake pads
install solid caliper guide bushings
replace front control arms/bushings
replace front wheel hubs
replace rear wheel bearings
replace rear lower control arms
replace all rear subframe/suspension bushings
install new limited slip diff
install (weld in) rear subframe reinforcement kit
install new (drilled) oil pump nut
replace engine mounts
install new seat
remove HVAC system entirely
remove remainder of stereo
change transmission fluid
remove door panels
remove remaining air bags

That's a pretty healthy list. :eeps:

Yikes.

But a lot of that can be done in your garage. Start with the nasty stuff and see how far you get. I'm guessnig you should complete at least 2 or 3 of the 25 items. :p

There are several of those things I want to do on my car in the future... it will be very educational to see them done on yours.

There's a lot of bolts to not be torqued in that list. :D

We definitely should do this.

Two groups (one for morning, one for afternoon), and there will still be plenty of folks left helping nick.... Or working on his car for him while he's autocrossing. :eeps:

We can pair up to have some head-to-head competitions.

Looks like about 2 WEEKS worth of work. :)

Nick, did you order the proper front wheel bearing install tool for the E36/E46? The one we have is for the E30, which has a smaller diameter stub axle. Any tools required for teh rear wheel bearings? That one will be interesting.

Terry,

What weekends look good for me to schedule my e30? Here's what I'm looking at:

weld rear sway tab reinforcements
front subframe reinforcements welded
install rear subframe bushings
install rear trailing arm bushings
install diff mount bushing
install center support bearing
install steering rack and tie rod ends
install uuc SSK
install coilovers
align and corner balance

Bren, maybe we can coordinate and do anything you need to your M3 the same weekend, since I don't think we're looking at a full weekend's worth of work on mine.

Alex, let's see, I will be at SP for a FATT instructors clinic on the 25th, then leave on the 27th, back on March 16, straight to VIR for the weekend. I will be home the next weekend, and then pretty much gone till the end of April (Vegas/work/SP race weekend). So it looks like the weekend around March 25/26, whatever it is.

Bren, call Pete at TC Kline and talk to him, they know they are their shocks, and they know that you have them. I am sure they will work with you.

Remote from airport lounge in Brisbane, Aus

But you have CASH MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Way back when, when I was selling my Civic Si, I got all the phone calls after putting the ad in AutoTrader where people would make offers over the phone (for about 60% of what I was asking) screaming that they had CASH MONEY!!!!!!!!!!! Wound up selling it to a middle aged guy that happened to pay with cash (at about 95% of what I was asking and about what it was probably "worth" +/- a couple hundred dollars) that was buying it for his 17yo son.

Well, I will be around the weekend after Nick's adventure. So you can do the same thing, take it apart on Sat and put that which you don't need welding for on Sat. Then I wil be around on Sun to do the welding, and you can finish putting it together.

That assumes Nick actually gets enough done to get the car out of the garage. :)

On the way back to Nick's house Saturday night, it appeared that we guessed pretty well. I'll aim them properly this weekend, but for now they're acceptable.
