That's what they cost for an E46. :dunno: GC plates are a tad cheaper, but not much.

I’m still undecided on which car/class to run next year. I figure I’ll wait and see if the car sells… if it doesn’t I’ll probably just run it again in STX.

I did however, just purchase an ‘87 BMW 325is as my new daily driver. I should have it in the next couple weeks.

Yep, got bimmerforums, still need to post on RoadFly and TMS. Thanks!!

Andy, no offense on your FMV calculation, but a friend of mine bought an '03 ZHP with 17K miles on it back in April for 29K. Around the same time someone was selling a very similar car for very similar money on the 'fest. I'd guess that the FMV of an 03 with 41K miles is probably in the mid to high twenties.

I have a stripped down non-ZHP 2003 330i. I estimate it's worth $25K. 26K if I'm lucky.

WOW.

I've been pricing out these cars for .. oh, about three weeks now :o and I have never seen one anywhere close to that low. The one that was local to me had 12,500 mi on it and it sold for a hair under $33k, and that car didn't have a sunroof. BMW Towson (always overpriced) has two on their lot right now that they're asking roughly $34k for. One has a sunroof, one does not.

Most people are asking $32-33k for theirs with slightly fewer miles than Andy's. I think his FMV calculation is spot on, given how well he's taken care of his car.

Yup. I occassionally see what my car is worth. I have yet to see anyone selling ANY ZHP 330i for less than low 30's. No doubt a dealer will royally screw you, but it selling privately one should do ok.

I am cautiously optimistic that these ZPH's will hold their value pretty well as time goes on when sold privately. I mean, already there seems to be strong interest from enthusiats for used ZHP's. But who knows. I am at least 3 years away from selling mine.

That's about 6 grand more than the ZHP was worth 14 months ago. That seems odd.

Working for BMWFS has it’s privileges. For my VIN and exact mileage this is what our systems came up with.

Book Value: 34,450.00
Estimated Value is: 31,275.00

Book Value = what a private party or dealer might sell it for.
Estimated Value = what BMWFS would expect to get out of it at auction.

I selected a “fair” value somewhere in between. If someone bought one for $29k, the buyer should consider himself very lucky that he bought it from a seller that didn’t know the value of his car.

EDIT : The values that you get from kbb.com or nada.com are not accurate and that’s probably where people are making their mistakes.

Agreed 100%. kbb.com and nada.com are accurate for some cars, but they don't seem to represent the "real world" of buying and selling cars, especially cars that are at all unique.

A $29k ZHP is a fantastic buy!

FWIW I just sold my 73,000 mile old 1995 M3 for $17,500. Kbb said it should be $11,755 private party. You'll never find an M3 in driveable condition for $12k. $14k is the lowest I've seen a "decent" M3 go for, and it needed some serious work. Most '95s seem to trade in the $15k to $18k range with the $18k cars being extremely well-maintained and having low mileage.

For Sale : (4) 17x8 SSR Competition Wheels w/ 235/40/17 Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD07s

These wheels were purchased new about 11 months ago. They’re in excellent condition, no scrapes or marks of any kind and are true and round. They will fit all E36 and E46 models. The tires were purchased new and shaved 2 months ago. They have about 4/32nds of tread left. You can purchase the wheels and tires brand new for $2,400. I’m asking $1,800 plus shipping.

Since the tires need to be replaced for normal street use, that only leaves $600 to buy them, plus mounting and balancing. Seems that it would be more expensive to buy your used set, then it would be to buy the same tire/wheel package new. :?

But, someone will actually think it's a good deal, and buy them from you. So I can't really fault you for that.

It's pricey, but only an idiot would buy SSRs for street use. :p

Only 4/32 tread left. They'd work fine, assuming they're still legal depth, in dry conditions. But you'd have a hard time in the rain.

If your goal is to buy them, then replace the tires with a new set, then, um yeah, don't buy these.

4/32nds is enough to drive around on. These would be a pretty good deal for someone looking for an autocross setup. Not as great of a deal for someone looking for street tires / wheels.

Then again, SSRs are kind of hard to come by these days.

It is tempting. If it had shorter gearing, like 3.40 or so, even I would be interested.

As much as I'd like to, it makes no sense right now. It's useless to me for autox, and as much as it would be fun to have an LSD on the street, it's not $2700 worth of fun.

I wouldn't be too hasty and lower the price too much. I know most folks want something with shorter gearing, but you'll find someone eventually who is a good fit and wants it badly.
