Cool-
Except for already having my 740... If it weren't black - I'd look at it myself.
Then again, I swore I'd never own a red car either.

It's a beautiful car, but it's been for sale for a month. :dunno:

Has anyone priced a valve adjustment on that car?

That's crazy money for an E34 M5, IMO. Yes, it's only got 40K miles, but at this point unless you are putting the car into a bubble the difference between a 40K and 80K mile M5 is pretty much meaningless--you are going to have spend money on either one.

If you are going to spend a lot for an E34 M5, buy one of the (several) federalized 3.8Ls that are running around. Or, buy a 95 540i Sport.

Honestly, E39 V8s are getting so cheap these days that it's hard for me to imagine justifying any flavor E34.

To be honest - While it might be 'crazy money' for some, for someone that wants one it's not that much - really... that's all that matters.

It's crazy money to do what we're doing to the Mustang, but that's another story.

I know folks that buy old E9's (for more) and have them rust away in their garage. I have yet to cross that line (I came damn close once...)

Crazy money it is, but it takes a certain amount of craziness to own and operate a car that is no faster, more comfortable, safer, reliable, or less expensive (in many cases) than any of its contemporary brethren.

Oh, and BTW: A valve adjustment for that puppy would not be expensive if done at home. Time consuming, yes; but if you were faced with measuring, swapping, and re-measuring clearances on 24 valves, would you take her to a shop that hasn't seen one in years, or just buy the tools and do it yourself? :D

James tells me that he gets 11MPG ON THE HIGHWAY in his M5.
