It's been in R/T, but I just saw a show on TLC or something last night about its creation that reminded me of the car.

I've always loved the Toronado, and the Riviera of the same era. The powerplant/chassis combo is over the top, but oh so cool. There aren't many cars I'd drive in slushbox form, but this is one of them.

I'd like to have Leno's money.

I'm not so wild about that generation E Body. But, if there was a car that I didn't buy that I wish I had when I had the chance, it was a super cherry recently restored 1965 Riviera back in 1995. The car was flat out amazing and the price was right. I was living in an apartment with no garage and since the car would have been my daily driver I knew that it wouldn't stay so nice for long. I bought the Q45 instead.

I'm actually more partial to the Riviera of the same vintage. Yummy.

When I read the copy of that ad, I keep thinking about My Uncle Vinny.

You can buy those cars off the shelf. You won't be seeing the Tankcar or a rwd '66 Toronado anywhere else.

I've always loved the Toronado, and the Riviera of the same era. .

My uncle had a front drive 1967 Eldorado (the Toronado's twin) the year it came out. I went with him and my dad to the 1967 NYC car show in that car, I recall sitting in the back seat and looking out at all the high rise apartment buildings on the west side......it was all so NYC circa 1967, the car, the scooped and space-age interior, the manhattan skyline.....it's a great memory.
