Hot. That ought to be fun.

...Of course, by then, buying a two-seat car will seem like kind of a stupid idea.

Wife's most recent unsolicited question or comment re: our family fleet:

Do you want to sell the RX-8 and get a Corvette?

That's the question. One of them, anyway. Potentially, anything from a C4 through a C6 non-Z06.

Another question is whether a Corvette is the right car for me right now (and the next couple years)...and what about autocrossing?

The whole thing is not nearly as simple as it seems.

Sadly, I had to resort to looking in my area since east coast Z06 searches came up null.

They're getting to be quite attainable though (on the used market). I've seen them being advertised for under $32k.

And what about autocrossing? Wasn't there big debates over at the SCCA forums over whether the C5 Z06 is unfairly dominating in its respective classes?

And back on topic... GM trying to curb dealer gouging on Solstice (http://www.detnews.com/2005/autosinsider/0506/16/A01-217876.htm)

Best analogy of the month awards goes to:

It's like NASA building space shuttles and handing them over to a bunch of carnival workers to sell them!

No worries. Within the first week of release, dealer lots will be flooded with Solstii. Billy Rae Buck's Southtown Chev will have 40 blue ones, 45 white ones, and 60 red ones. Expect deep discounts and irresistable rebates the minute they hit showroom floors. That's the GM way.

If you think back to the gentle drive you took in my car when you were out here, the issue maybe become simple once again . . .

When it comes down to it, there are really only two options that make sense.

Sounds like me back in December. Do I keep trying to find a '96 6-speed Z51 C4 or bite the bullet and get a C5 Z06?

I was leaning towards the C4.

Need to look into how much my M3 is actually worth now. :eeps:
