Hmm...maybe, but it's FWD and will more than likely be built in Mexico.

But what a great interior!! :P
Seriously, I like the fact that they are returning to their roots. Good handling, lighter weight, and a peppy engine. The turbo can be easily upgraded.
I had one of the orginal 84 black/red Rabbit GTI's. I had so much fun with that car. If every single one of them were not trashed, I would consider buying one as a comuter car. :)
Hell I like that better then the E90 interior. At least the nav is integrated and not a nasty lump in the middle of the dash.
I'd love to do that to the seats in my elise. Alcantara inserts with yellow stitching all around.
oops, they didn't include that pic in the article

I'm sure they'd come in handy when de-virginizing the car. :devcool:
Oh, and all US bound GTIs will be made in Wolfsburg, Germany. Not sure if that will make a meaningful bump in quality or not.
If I bought one I couldn't pass over white with plaid seats. It's just too classic.

I don't care where it's built, but I don't want no stinkin' FWD.

Another white GTI would be cool. Mine didn't have plaid seats, though.
