Could a LS7 Solstice/Sky be far behind? :speechle:

(BTW CTS-V owners: Plenty of mods for you guys too :eeps: )

Great idea, but I'm not going to like the weight balance.

Then again, wtf cares when you're just scaring kiddies in their Hondas?

Attention, lemming! Complete your 400 hp GM collection!

I want one.

I don't care about the balance.

Can they stuff an LS2 in a Boxster/Cayman? :eeps:

:)

Make it an LS7 and I'll take the plunge.

Actually, wtf is wrong with me? I'll just buy one off lease and do the conversion myself.

Uh, yeah. I think 400 hp is going to be enough.

I do wonder, though, once the conversion is done whether the Solstice will be much lighter than the Corvette.

I think that a transplant Solstice would beat a C6 at the drag strip. The Ecotec may be small, but it's not all that light. Total weight gain after the swap can't be more than one passenger's worth of poundage over the front axle.

Of all the times to cut my salary, I choose now....life sucks. :)

How about an LS7-powered Cayman?

Wow, a P-Car with a race engine! Whouda thunk it... :) :outtaher:

That's the ticket! A mid-engined Porsche with a high-powered, race-proven, dry-sump engine.

General estimated weight #s place an LS2 conversion as having a 100lbs penalty overall. An LS7 would be slightly lighter at first but you'll probably need to upgrade lots of drivetrain bits to compensate for the added power.

Still, it's not out of the question to get a LS7 Solstice under the C6 Z06 weight, as much as 75-100lbs (assuming OEM is around 2800). Price though, may be another issue...

it's cool that mallett or lingenfelter would do such a thing, but the car is still pretty narrow and it would limit traction. a modern day cobra, perhaps, but not my cup of tea. overengined and undertired without some serious wheel tubbing and fender work.

you might do better by mating the solstice to the new saab 2.8litre v6 with higher boost.
